For this exercise, I chose to use a photograph that I took at the end of summer at Warwick Castle. The church is a good central feature, as well as hills in the background and quite a busy foreground. I used a bit of smudged graphite for the sky, which I then erased in places to create clouds & light.
For the church, I used a HP pencil, and a 2B for the foreground. The background is a mixture of soft pastel light grey and 4H.
Diagram showing how I have split the picture into 3 sections, Background, Mid-ground and Foreground.
